SHOREWOOD AT A GLANCE…
Located just 40 minutes South of the Chicago Loop, Shorewood is nestled between I-80, I-55 and the scenic DuPage River, allowing easy access to downtown as well as beautiful trails and scenery right at home. Shorewood Towne Center offers paved trails, a splash pad, an outdoor amphitheatre and a playground. Native grasses and vegetation surround the peaceful ponds. The beautiful newly constructed Town Hall is located in this subdivision as well. From green spaces and wooded picnic areas to a bustling shopping corridor, Shorewood has something for everyone.
BUSINESS
Illinois Route 59 runs along the East side of town, featuring several major anchor stores, grocery stores, a generous selection of restaurants and many local businesses. This growing community has many retailers to choose from just a short drive from home. The Towne Center development also holds space for future outlots that will provide eating establishments, office buildings, and more.
FUN THINGS TO DO IN SHOREWOOD
There is plenty to see and do in Shorewood. From trail systems that connect neighboring towns, to local farms that offer fun seasonal events for the whole family, everyone will find something to enjoy. The DuPage River trail system offers many access points for rafting or canoeing, or simply spending a hot summer day wading in the cool waters. There are several picnic shelters available for those large gatherings. Bring a camera because you are sure to spot many species of wildlife, including deer, cranes and the occasional eagle.
TRANSPORTATION
Shorewood is situated 40 miles southwest of Chicago’s bustling downtown. Conveniently nestled between Interstate 80 and 55, which provides a nationwide east west route. The Metra station is a 20 minute drive, if you prefer to commute downtown by train.
HEALTHCARE
Just east of the Shorewood Towne Center community, residents have convenient access to St. Joseph’s hospital, which provides immediate care services, laboratory, x-ray and digital testing. There are many urgent care facilities, general practitioners and specialists throughout the town, as well.
SCHOOLS
Residents of Shorewood Towne Center are part of Minooka Community School District 201. Your children can attend Walnut Trails Elementary School through 4th grade. 5th and 6th graders attend Minooka Intermediate School and Minooka Junior High for 7th and 8th graders.
Shorewood Towne Center students will attend the highly-regarded Minooka Community High school. This mid-sized school offers a unique educational experience through its two campuses.
